I size up my opponent
Relaxing my muscles
Flexing them again
Going through moves in my head
Memorizing
Chaining them together
To make one
Final take-down
The whistle blows
Finally

We lock arms
Muscles hard
Temples riddled with veins
About to burst from our heads
Minds thinking
Countering, attacking, defending
Bodies aching
But what is ache
Whistle blows
Second period

My body screams
My mind is dead
Reflex
Muscle memory
They keep me
In the fight
Instinct died long ago
Along with weakness
Now my heart is in
The fight
Pushing through
Taking the place
Of my mind
Whistle blows
It begins

Eyes narrowed
Because vision is blurred
Sweat covers every part
Of me
Bystanders
Onlookers
All stop
Mesmerized, hypnotized
By this match
Wondering
How
Then it comes
The wall
Stops me dead
Keeps me from moving
Telling me
No more
My heart is dead
My soul is finished
My mind is back
Telling me
It is over
But my will
My will says no
I push the wall
Hammering it
With head
Feet, and
Fists of stone
Until the wall cracks

My mind
Stops
Will kicks in
I push harder
Stronger
Until
The wall
and I
Collapse
I feel us fall
Then the whistle blows
What happened?
We collapsed
It is over
No?
My hand
Being raised

Release
Emotions come in
I feel
Happy
No
I feel
Like a
King
I looked at the wall
It looked back at me
And crumbled
To dust

This is from my wrestling experience. Everyone has an opponent inside of themselves, and it's up to them alone to defeat it. Tell me your interpretation in your comments, I'd love to know how you see it :)
