The Sky's Touch
As I sit longing for a day to fly
To finally rise up and touch the sky
To see the world from a place anew
In a world that I always thought I knew
To people and places so far down below
I would watch with joy without a hello
But here I sit staring at my face
In the mirror it seems such a very odd place
A faded smile barely on my lips
In hopes of freedom on my fingers tips
To finally fly away with a clouds farewell
To a place where no sadness could ever dwell
To where I see myself one day
Being strong and happy all the way
So now I must just wish upon my star
For the land I long for oh so far
