Eclipse
The two lie in wet grass,
flat on their backs,
amazed up at the first eclipse.
Fingertips
and lips swoon
as moon slips
inside sun.
The whole eve hums
under the rose-retina sky.
The upper world’s light mixture whispers;
the two rapture in release reprise.
But they unslip untwine fingers.
Moon lingers static in the neon street night.
Sun falls beyond into adorning dawn light.
