You and I, we sit
While the elephant in the room
Stomps like a hyena and cries like a dolphin

You and I, we sit
And ignore the sound of music
Like peas on a pod with no ears

You and I, we sit
As the elephant in the room flashes neon bow-ties
And whips his trunk in our faces
Like giddy grasshoppers on a Thursday

You and I, we sit
And reject our passions together
Like a team of wimps with a baby’s fears

Without the tears
Because we have been blinded, deafened, muted, and made indifferent
To the giant elephant in the room-
The elephant of love

And you fear people not liking your stuff? One of your poems has already gotten in the mag, but this one is just as magnificent! The repetition works with this because it is about love, and I like this because it isn't just one of those typical love poems

Favorite Quote:
“A hero is someone who rebels or seems to rebel against the facts of existence and seems to conquer them. Obviously that can only work at moments. It can't be a lasting thing. That's not saying that people shouldn't keep trying to rebel against the facts of existence. Someday, who knows, we might conquer death, disease and war.” -Jim Morrison

This poem shows experience and wonderful forethought! I love the repition of "You and I," I can truly relate to this poem! You are very talented :)
