The World and I
You want the world to know your name?
Well tell me your name.
I'm not the world,
But I'll treat you all the same.
Cause you don't want to be treated with care.
You want the world to rip out every last hair.
And how do I dare speak these things?
Because I know and don't care what you think.
And all those skimpy clothes they make you wear.
Only to scream in your face,
Every word you hear in your mind.
If only you were deaf or blind,
You wouldn't have to see their looks,
Or hear their remarks about your awful body.
Yet you feed on their words of hate.
Drink on their looks of disgust.
You want the world to know your name?
Tell me your name.
I can treat you all the same.
And there's nobody else to blame,
But yourself and now you feel the shame.
Yet the world is water,
And without you can't survive long.
So you pretend like they all want to listen,
To your sad written song.
They don't want to hear,
But I will listen.
You want the world to know your name?
So tell me your name,
But I don't think I can treat you the same.
Because you are wonderful, beautiful,
And amazingly made.
