The War
The chill creeps through my bones
The crinkle and crackle of the running leaves
Fly past me
There all that’s left
With the aroma of fuel in my nostrils
And pavement by my feet
You feel the remnants of this war
The prisoners of this war
Tower above us with their branches swaying
And their leaves retreating
Yes there there
The war is here
The ground has risen
Stone and sand
Metal and steel
Rise from there buried tombs
To come and join the fight
To conquer the ones above
The dead rise to conquer the life
They attack the air
Filling it
Poisoning the lung of their opponents
And the ones they work for
Yes my lungs are saturated with their fumes
Clinging to the walls of my lungs
Gripping them in a head lock
We will loss
Don’t you see
We called for help
The will soon flee
To run and hide
Back to their tombs
To leave us with this mess
So we will fail this test
We called for war
And we got it
We won
But
is it worth it
