What Matters
It does not matter that I am sixteen,
While he is twenty-seven, married with kids,
It does matter that we are in love,
Many will not understand,
It does not matter that we only see each other a few times a week,
Ironically at church, and for my home-schooling lessons,
It does matter that we have those little eye flutters,
We hardly speak about our love for she is always around,
It does not matter that nobody will approve,
We can just run away,
It does matter that your wife will be gone tomorrow,
The doctor said Chicago was in need,
It does not matter that I casted my eyes down,
For my parents could surely see the sin in my eyes,
It does matter that this isn't lust,
I open your front door,
It doesn't matter that I kissed you,
and you pushed me away,
You asked what was I doing?
A lot more was my reply,
Why did you have confusion is your eyes?
You kicked me out on my rear end,
You told your wife,
And she embarassed me in front of the church,
I had to confess and I was surely punnished,
By shunning,
It doesn't matter though,
What does matter,
Is our love.
