A buoy holds me down
Keeps me back
Keeps me safe

How could you?
Thank you
I thought you were my friend
That’s why

The sirens call
Your ropes hold me captive
You hear my screams
Through ears full of wax

You know what’s right
What’s right is hard
Touch me and see my dreams
Understand my struggles
But drag me back before I drown

Only a buoy
Only a true friend
