no longer naive
January 20, 2013
when sweet words roll off
your appealing tongue,
i find myself hesitating
to search for the truth.
if it had been a year earlier,
in the beginning of june,
i would have foolishly believed
every direct pronoun
and poorly worded sentence
that slid out of your
filthy, deceitful mouth.
