December
Blue fingertips,

 brown boots,

 and a red mind.

She watched the grass tremble in the wind,

the girls laugh at an inside joke she’d never understand,

and the cars zoom by in a rush.

 Kinetic energy—the energy of motion.

Everyone and thing seemed to have a grasp on it

as she sat on a beat up bench in December.

 Winter was approaching

 as the seasons swiftly switched

as she sat on a red bench in December.
