I want someone
To intertwine our fingers
Instead of just palm-to-palm
To talk me to sleep at night
And wake me with a “good morning”
To kiss me hello
Instead of just saying “hey”
To put their arm around my waist
So I can rest my head on their shoulder
To watch a sunset with
And the rain and the snow
No
You’re not what I want
But you helped me realize what I do
And for that
I hope you get what you want
