Our Choices
What are we doing?
We come home and we fight.
We get in the car and we fight.
There is no peace inside our home.
There is no peace inside our hearts.
But we both have a choice.
We can fight or be in peace.
What are we doing?
I come home, and I hate you.
I hate what you do with your time.
I know you love me, but I can’t forget.
I hate the life we both live.
But we both have a choice.
We can hate or we can love.
What are we doing?
When we talk, we end up yelling.
I really wish we could laugh again.
All yelling, that’s all I ever hear.
No matter where I am or what I am doing, I only hear yelling.
But we both have a choice.
We can yell or we can laugh.
What are we doing?
When I see you, I frown.
When you see me, you smile.
Your smile only lasts for a little while.
Let’s face it, I turn your smile upside down.
But we both have a choice.
We can frown or we can smile.
I choose to be in peace.
I choose to love.
I choose to laugh.
I choose to smile.
Now you have a choice.
