Remember
Please don't forget
We grow up and we forget
She wanted to be a chef
At six years old
But then...
The storms came and the winds blew
And here she is at seventeen
Dropped out of school
Addicted to the dream
Of party and play
Can’t remember what she did yesterday
Forgets that little girl
With dreams of pie and cake
Doesn’t know her world is fake
True dreams replaced
With makeup and booze
Winds up in jail
On the news
As she sits in her cell
Wonders why life has become a hell
Wanted to bake all day
Now it’s just fake all day
What happened to that little girl?
With dreams and braids and toothy grins
What happened to the innocence?
Hold on to your dreams, girl
Don’t waste yourself away
Don’t forget who you are
Don’t get lost
Please just remember
Remember,
And remember
