Dandelion Daughters

You've been on eye level with dandelions
Your entire life
spending far too long on your knees
bearing too much weight from a man
Who will never give a dang about you
He will always write I love you in pencil
To terrified to flirt with fine lines
of semi-permanent and forever

He will stomp on your side walk of a soul
foot-steps embedded in your backbone you bow
to a caution tape smile
he will never worship you for the wallflower you are
only ever sit there and debate
"I love you"s and "I love you not"s
to the petals of your self esteem

But still, you kneel before the landfill
of his mind and gutter of a soul
and his biodegradable feelings
You are only ever used to stroke
his dying biosphere of an ego and he
is decomposing in his on pollution of pathetic
B.S.

But still you are scared to leave him like
his anger will be earthquakes
leaving cracks in your sidewalk and I
am so tiered of these 15 minute
tsunami showers every time you feel
like having power over someone
stop trying to play mother nature
when the season suits you
you've been too busy cleaning up his body
of river snatching cigarettes and cans from the mouth
your hand are trying to be his levee
but when an easy woman like Katrina comes along
You will not be able to hold him

And sometimes, I wish I was a dandelion
Something that could grow even between
the cracks of your sidewalk soul
but you only pluck me, and wish
on my seeds for him to love you

He has been cutting down your rain forest beauty
since the day you met, and he
will never stop, but you
seem have to become oblivious to the fact
that you hold 4 children's fragile ecosystem
In your bipolar hands
And sometimes I think
"You DESERVE him"

But I know it is only because
kneeling you are drowning in his excuses, but if you would stand on your feet
for once in your life, maybe you could breathe
and the other day I asked you
what you thought of dandelions
and all you did is sneer and reply
"Their unneeded weeds"
