Greenest Grass
They say the grass is greener,
On the other side,
With rustling leaves and
skies blue like the blistering
of a sapphire.
The endless fresh cool breeze,
Soothing and feeding
the roots of an elm.
The crescendo of birds tweeting in the morning,
on the other side,
with their voices tickling your earbuds and calling back down to a whisper.
Diminished.
But where the grass really is greener,
Is where the eyes are open to all,
Ears open to new knowledge.
Where is the grass greener?
Closer than you might think.
