On my rough and calloused knees,
I begged for love
but could find none,
to feed my hungry famished heart
and lie to me I was worth some.

Oh, wow. This was simply chilling. In a good way, of course -- you've created a very bleak and hopeless atmosphere in so few words. And it's so sad to think that even though some people receive love, they convince themselves that love is a lie. Anyway, great job.
