Underneath

I felt I could fly,
like I was as light as air,
and nothing could bring me down.
When I was with him.
He enticed me with his cool words.
His reassuring glance soothed me.
His twisted logic was as solid as the ground he stood on.
The ground I worshipped.
I never noticed what was underneath my godlike idea of him.
Not until I fell.
