I feel like we are falling apart.
Somewhere deep inside of me, I know it’s true.
I don’t want to believe it –
I don’t want to believe we have drifted
because of the distance.
The way I speak to you and the way you speak to me
Our voices are clouded and clogged
With fake laughs and fake sympathy.
You ask me how my family is doing.
I say we’re getting through the hard times.
I ask you how’s school.
You say it’s better.
I feel a catch in my throat when you say you’re
busy for the next couple of weeks.
That’s too bad; I was hoping we could hang out.
You talk about your new friend like she is gold.
I have no one to talk about.
I feel anger and pain and I regret never answering
your calls and texts.
If only you could understand the way I was feeling,
But communication was lacking.
“I have to go, I’ll call you back …”
And something tells me you won’t.

:'( I love this poem; you describe this situation so beautifully!

Absolutely not.

It applies to so many of us, because it has happened to us too. I thank you for writing this poem.

For the record, I don't think it was too long. I think you couldn't have explained everything you did if it was one line shorter :)

The room was very quiet. I walked over to the TV set and turned it onto a dead channel-white noise at maximum decibels, a fine sound for sleeping, a powerful continuous hiss to drown out everything strange."

I liked it. I'm going through the same kind of thing right now. Thanks for the goosebumps ;)

I think this was really good, exsept for the fact that it was too lengthy and draging on and on. Cut down on your worlds to make a really good free-verse poem. :)

The last two-thirds gave me a bit of satisfaction and dare I say it.. pleasure. I laughed for nearly an hour after the final 'something tells me you won't' (oh god). This poem is beautiful... and cheesy and trite and PAINFUL. All in all though, it was... gripping.... My best advice besides different word choice, is don't listen to music (ESPECIALLY EMO) while you're writing, it clouds the mind and thought.

I can relate because my friends talk about all their friends and i have no one to talk about except them. I feel my best friend and I are moving apart because of this boy. Then I will have no real friends.
