i will not fade into the distance
like dust rolling
across earths-
you will scrape me off
bit my bit
like stubborn nail polish
meant to adorn
but making unwelcome residence
on your fingertips.
i am the rough patches leftover
on your nail bed
reminding you of your
polish and purge.
