You say that I deserve all the time that I need
But yet, you are rushing to plant your seed inside of me.
You can see that I am coy
But you are only using me for your own joy.
When you tell me that it is not true
And that you love me for who I am and what I do,
I swear I can see your nose grow
When you try to say that it is not so.
Maybe if you were not in such a rush,
I may be more likely to have even a little crush.
To all the women you are a Romeo
But I can see right through you like a window.
It hurts me so when you say my beauty will soon not be found
Because you should love your woman even when she is seven feet under the ground.
Big, hulk-like, strong men like you are normally my Achilles’s Heel
But in this case, I know what you are trying to steal.
I could never really be happy with someone like you
That is because stealing women’s virginity is all you know how to do.
We have been friends for what feels like a million years
But if it were ever more than that, I know it would all end in tears.
I hope you understand where I am coming from
And I hope that you realize that I am saying this because I am still a baby and so young.
My virginity is not yours for the taking
And my dear, a friend is all you will be staying.

This is a response to the poem, To His Coy Mistress, by Andrew Marvell.
We had to write this for AP english and it came out a lot better than I thought it would!
