It's only a dream
When I awoke one morning,
A cat was on my head.
I asked, "What are you doing there?"
It looked at me and said
 “What are you doing here?”

 That statement confused me,
I sat up and wondered where I could be.
“But where am I?” I said looking around
The cat mewed “You’re safe with me.”
The flowers were gems and grass covering all the ground.

“This must be a dream, I was at my home.”
I said still having trouble putting pieces together.
“Come, I have something to show you” Said the cat as she walked away.
I followed the cat, maybe it was a treasure!
We walked and above us the tree branches played.

We walked and walked until I thought I might drop.
Then we walked to a clearing that was open and wide.
In the center there was a box, as wide as a sled
I walked toward it and wondered what was inside.
I looked down the box; it went on and on till I saw my bed!

“What’s that doing there?” I pondered out loud.
The cat replied, “You said it was a dream and correct you were indeed.”
“So I go down there and wake up?” I say and the cat nods.
“You can leave whenever you please, or whenever you need.”
“I guess I’ll go then.” I say and the cat plods away.

I swing my leg over the box
And look around one more time.
I will miss this place and the sunshine beams.
The land is so sweet and kind and divine.
I jump to my bed though. I can come back it’s only a dream
