Plugged Ears
I’m sorry,
 But you’re wrong!
 I’m not being disrespectful.
 I’m just stating the facts.
 Telling you the truth…
 Or at least trying to.
 It seems like your ears
 Are filled with wool,
 Plugged against my words.
You don’t want to hear them,
 So you don’t,
 And the moment passes.
 I lose my courage,
 And once more
 I am reduced to lies—
 Some false statements or half-truths—
 But really all just lies.
