Across the Room
You say you hate her,
That she annoys you, bores you,
That you dislike to be in her presence,
That it is a time ill-spent and you wish you were somewhere else

 But under that dead mask
Is a rage of agonising fire
 A wretched wailing of heartstrings
A falling of diamond-sharp tears onto your crystal table
Crashing of worlds and hopes and senses
At the same time as when a beautiful being is sitting there, still, trapped
 across the room from you.
