My Closed Eyes
When I close my eyes I see her
Her face, her beautiful smile
I hear the sound of her laugh
The one that makes my heart stop
I see her flawless hair
A she flips it so gracefully
Not a strand out of place
When I close my eyes I hear her
The warmth in her voice
Pouring out like honey
Golden, flowing, perfect
I can hear the wisdom she has
How she has unlimited potential
And unknown talent
When I close my eyes I see us
Holding hands, her and I
I hold her tight so she doesn't join her fellow angels in heaven
Afraid that she will realize she deserves more
Frustrated that she doesn't see the girl I see
When I close my eyes I imagine
Her on our wedding day
Us growing old together
Me always knowing I'm the luckiest guy
To be able to see all these things
Behind closed eyes
