Lover's Oblivion
He wandered off into oblivion
To find his love, lonesome Vivian
He sold his soul to get one glimpse
Just for one kiss from her lonesome lips
The path to her was not so easy
For most men, they'd grow quite queasy
He sold his soul, what else could be worse?
He crossed the path in a gilded hearse
Upon arrival, he faced one hurdle
Vivian's grandmother, crazed, hurling her girdle
She spoke broken English and walked with a limp
To him, she was nothing but a batty old imp
Prophecized she did, stories of Vivian
This world, Vivian was no longer living in
Tears fled from the traveler's eyes
His journey was pointless, what a surprise
As he fled back home to weep and grieve
He noticed a maiden, whom he couldn't believe
It was Vivian, back from her lonely stroll
They left together, soul to soul
