Sunlit Stars
Sunlit Stars
Shining bright,
High up in the sky tonight.
Like a gleam in my eye,
Something to hide.
Small secrets
That make up the night.
Lighting the way,
As we get lost in lies.
Not afraid to admit the truth,
Knowing how we are bound by you.
Fading in and out,
A senseless dance
Of interwoven lines.
A connect-the-dots,
Where the picture has changed.
They're stories with beautiful beginnings,
Finishing with sad endings.
Black holes that take the light
Knowing that we need the sunshine.
Waiting for dawn to come,
Blink away our existence,
As love takes over
And warms our frozen hearts.
Lighting the way
Long enough to say,
"I see the end,"
The end of the road,
"Finally, we have found our way home."
