Daddy, Can You Hear Me?
Daddy, can you hear me?
I’m giggling at your face, your baby here in place
 Daddy, can you hear me?
I’m squealing with excitement, I’m only in eighth grade and I’ve written the best piece of enlightenment
 Daddy, can you hear me?
I’m disappointed that you’re leaving; I was so upset I thought I might be dreaming
 Daddy, can you hear me?
I’m nervous and ashamed; I gave myself away to a boy who just wanted to get laid
 Daddy, can you hear me?
I’m so sorry I was wrong, but an apology is worth nothing when you’re long gone
 Daddy, can you hear me?
I’m calling out your name, these tears streaming down; the world thinks I’m so lame
 Daddy, can you hear me?
My heart’s broken and I’m sad, I didn’t know my love for him could hurt so bad
 Daddy, can you hear me?
I’m crying on the floor, I’ve slit my wrists and watch as the blood starts to pour
I’ve taken my own life; I have no more strength to fight
 Daddy, DID YOU HEAR ME?
 I guess not.
