JUST LIKE ME
Alone in the dark night sky
 Like me on the ground
You never share your joy or grief
 Like me with companions around.

 None speak to you
 Or about you
You are just a non-existent solid mass
 Just like me.

You have everyone yet no one
 Just like me.
 You want anyone and everyone
 Just like me.

You twinkle along the dark sky of no hope
But pretend to be happy and spread hope
I do the same to provide others with joy
 You're so just like me.

 I swallow my sadness
 So do you
 I swallow my feelings
 So do you
 Why are we so alike?

Many tease you for some reason or other
 Just like me
Yet you suffer inside and smile as you never heard it
 You're so just like me.

I've reached all the dead ends
There's a silver lining I am looking for
 O God! Just say
 Why are we so alike?
