Social Needia
She sits on her bed in the darkness,
laptop propped up on her knees.
In her hand
she clasps a phone
and waits...
Alone,
She trawls through pictures
of old friends who
have it all.
This party they are at,
Was she invited? No.
Tears trickle down her Face-
Book? Not anymore, she has an iPhone.
Twinkle, twinkle,
the little star from her childhood
shines no longer on her.
Only be the illuminated screen of her phone can she see,
such a twisted reality.
Come the morning she wakes to a
Tweet.
Not the song of a bird.
But the sad lament of social media,
corrupting our children.
