Rain, Finally
Rain hit the hot cement,
finally in a century.
At first I didn't recognize
the sound of a sizziling frying pan.I didn't know what it was, and I didn't know what to think,
we've been in this drought so long
I couldn't believe what my ears were hearing.
but as my gaze settled out the glass panelled windows I saw water pounding on the ground like a powerful hammer and I was astound.
It was a beautiful sound to me, that rain pattering down and for a moment I couldn't breathe. I felt joy and happiness, rain, finally!
I stood there staring, I stood there listening as if it was the greatest prize in the world and to me it was. This drought has been misery and has killed all our wild life. The plants were our medicine, they were our cure,
they were our antidote for everything and now their just a blur.
But the Rain, finally will return our loss and we will regain the power and the energy to move on, and we will be able to forget all that had us crossed.
Rain, finally, I hope it stays,
god bless us, and keep the devastation away.
