She tries
She gets judged,
Lied to,
Targeted,
Made fun of.
She tries to fight back,
As she fights for her life,
But the other side’s laughter
Is the edge of the knife.
She resists their attempts to change her,
To faze her,
To harm her.
But she is a child,
And children aren’t normally strong.
She is a rebel,
But rebellion is wrong.
She puts up facades,
But inside, it’s destroying her.
She tries not to cry,
Hopes no one sees the tears in her eyes.
She acts like she’s whole,
But she’s just a broken,
Shattered
Piece of something more.
She tries,
She fights,
To ignore the words that cut like knives.
She tries,
She fights,
To keep herself sane.
And it’s all just an attempt
To survive this game.
