You were the face my eyes to at night;
The person they held tightest during the day,
Whose being in my sight sparked my eyes alight.

Yet you did what you thought right,
Hugged a loaded gun
And left my gaze in the night.

No lounger would my eyes shine as bright.
Though the sun shone on them in the day,
What you did, extinguished their light.
