Favorite Quote:
Happiness is like a butterfly
The more you chase it
The more it will elude you
But if you turn your attention to other things
It will come and sit softly on your shoulder. - Henry David Thoreau

Tu solus es, nonne tu es, parve flos?
Vae, tuus oriens sol, non lucem tibi iacit
Vae, tua subridens luna, non tibi nitet
Tu tuo amanti mundo relicta est, parve flos
Et dolor tuum concisum cordem celeriter explet
Sed non lacrima nam finis est
Solus aut patiens sis, parve flos!
Tu alium invenies esse cum te
Et clamabis, tranquille mollitieque te
"Non obliviscere me"

Translation:

You are alone, are you not, little flower?
Woe, your rising sun, he does not cast light to you
Woe, your smiling moon, she does not shine for you
You have been abandoned by your loving world, little flower
And sorrow quickly fills up your broken heart
But do not cry for it is not the end
You should not be alone or suffering, little flower!
You will discover another to be with you
And you will shout, quietly and with softness by yourself,
"Forget me not"

The author's comments:
At a certain point in my life, I started to ask people for their favorite flowers since I believe that a person's favorite flower speaks a lot about them. This poem is dedicated to a friend who happens to like forget-me-nots. Although I seldom speak to her, I'll definitely never forget her entirely.
