Favorite Quote:
"You love someone, you open yourself up to suffering, that's the sad truth. Maybe they'll break your heart, maybe you'll break their heart and never be able to look at yourself in the same way. Those are the risks. The thought of losing so much control over personal happiness is unbearable. That's the burden. Like wings, they have weight, we feel that weight on our backs, but they are a burden that lifts us. Burdens which allow us to fly..."
-Dr. Jack Hodgins (Bones)

People think they are

Just one in the same

For them, truth is a blur

Thinking a word is the name

But I know better than them

I can see what they can not

The spirit is a person's gem

And soul the big blot

Souls are thrown around

From death to another life

It cannot make a sound

While being stabbed with its knife

Tortured with each change

Holes are bored through

It’s whole purpose is strange

As it hasn’t a clue

It wonders why

What did it do to deserve this fate

It wants to cry

As it absorbs all the hate

Emotions rolled in it

Filled from centuries of work

It wants to split

For the emotions isn’t a perk

Spirits, however, are free

They’re never reused

They are the person’s personality

And it’s always amused

After someone is done

The spirit must ascend

For a spirit belongs to one

And it and that one blend

Spirits move on

They have no chain

Free as a swan

And graceful as a crane

It is this freedom

That the souls desire

It is the very reason

They conspire

Souls made us believe

That they and the spirit are the same

Thought the spirits seethe

Souls played and won their game

But for me

I must know where they start

For you see

I am the one who tears them apart
