And So It Begins
A veil is draped
across the stars
as the midnight god
takes her throne.
Blue burns black.
A grip
of withered branches
pluck her from the sea
like an old woman's
shriveled finger.
Light weeps
down a braided trunk.
Grey burns silver.
The giant,
towering in pride and greatness,
shivers as moonlight bleeds
into a thousand supple rings.
The midnight god wields her power
and an icy wind takes hold,
wicked and restless.
Green burns red.
