The Ringing In Her Ear

The ringing in my ears,
It is a sickness
I cannot clear.
It doesn’t go away,
Only gets louder as the end
Draws near.
Around me,
They don’t hear it
Amongst their whispered fears.
Their murmuring
Only fading in to become
The ringing I hear.
Louder,
It rings
I cringe with fear.
“Make it stop!”
I yell,
But they cannot hear.
The girl
Crying for help,
With the ringing in her ear.
