Mirror, Mirror

The mirrors on the walls
it's all an illusion
I follow myself, racing down corridors
smashing blindly into dead ends
a maze of mirrors
Tentative eyes meet mine-
I finally see something I recognize.
Fear.
Safety is a magic trick, a play of cards
I form an army of clones fighting themselves,
shards of glass scattered around my feet
as I fight through
the end so close
but so impossibly far
I'm the only player in this game
