"And I hope she'll be a fool – that's the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool.'"

She’s begging for a five, a ten or two.
And I’m saying I have no money,
But I'm ashamed cause I really do.

The silence of my own fortune,
Is burning a hole in my heart.
Cause I know that she could be lying,
But she’s also falling apart.

Her eyes are burning shades of red,
I can’t help to smell the cigarettes.
I can feel her desperately lying,
But how can I watch how she’s dying?

So I reach inside my bag,
Without a single regret
I pull out out a five,
And I look her in the eyes.

She said, thank you, and God Bless.
She walks away from me.
A few steps away from where she stood,
I'm praying that she really is good.

I gifted her with a sense of shame,
But shame works with fortune best.
There’s no questions, no one to blame,
You accept it, then take it like a test.

My world begins to carry on,
and her world does too.
Tomorrow will come and she’ll buy her sins,
With that five, she could have used.
