The Mount
A rose swayed in the wind
The ground around it was black
As the ash fell from the sky
The firey liquid rolled down the mountain of death
But it wouldn’t touch the rose
It was too high
Animals raced past the rose
In a vain attempt to escape the inevitable
The town below was ablaze
Cars tried to dislodge themselves from the blanket of ash
Their people cried and ran with the animals
The fire was there now
Bringing an end to everything it touched
The animals
The cars
The people
Then a small spark flew up and kissed its’ pedals
The rose slowly burned away
Looking over the glowing town
And the animals
And the cars
And the people
Then nothing
