I reached out for you,

in the realm of darkness that has manifested my room.

But my tender hand returns,

clenched and empty.

The sweet, sweet memory

of you

is all I have to subdue the pain in my heart

at the absence of you.

Until I see you next,

my fist shall remain

clenched and empty-handed.

My heart shall stay

dissatisfied and yearning.

And myself

incomplete.
