Ode to the Night
When the sun dies out,
darkness falls upon the Earth.
We are never alone however,
the stars are there to guide us.
Stars of white, sky of black
like an old time movie,
proceed through silence.
There is beauty in the day
that will flourish in the night
like city streets barely illuminated
by street lamps.
Not a sound to be heard, the streets ghostly.
the pale flesh of the concrete reflecting star and lamp light
seeming golden in the dark cloud that blankets the
world.
It is this blanket that the Gods use
to tuck you into bed.
Under the glistening stars
in the silence
of the divine
night.
