Beluga Whale
My legs pump with mild determination,
  my knees vibrate with adrenaline,
and I wobble in the rainy wind.
  My jacket is wet,
  my face misted heavily,
  and throat dry,
  I am a beached whale,
barely surviving on the red sand that is the track,
  I flip flop
  round and round
  the track countless times.
I am th most athletic whale,
the beautiful beluga flops upon the track
the red ring of gravel is her oyster!
The afternoon is freezing the others,
but I have been through the deepest of depths,
  of despair,
  heartbreaking failure,
  and hot cold rage.
  This numbing cold,
  is absolutely nothing.
  I do not complain,
  I run the 200 meters,
  I smile at the sky,
  my face wet with rain.
  Water,
  the only thing
  that keeps this beluga whale,
  from giving up.
