amour de conte de fées
she roamed through paris streets
among old gothic buildings
and overpriced clothing shops.
i met her in a vintage,
cliché storybook coffee shop,
sipping lattes
and sorrow
from a cracked ceramic mug.
her eyes sang soft crescendos
and i could not turn away.
we walked across white lights
and tasted wine
on top of the eiffel tower
underneath a star-drunk sky.
it was beneath this latticework
of raindrops,
when pain met hope
and true tenderness was born.
