Bleed
children with books
coloring, drawing
outside the lines
outside the picture
crayons flying
markers blurring
and the result was beautiful
colorful
new
then they grow older
and they must stay
in the lines
conforming
changing
learning how to live
with other people’s lives
but markers bleed
and crayons grow dull
and the lines blur
but art
art is not
beautiful
despite its flaws
because despite implies
it is somehow less
than without them
and it is not still beautiful
because still is settling
still is second best
and it is not still beautiful
it is beautiful

Everybody is so obsessed with perfection and fitting in that many forget to love themselves. They focus on every 'flaw' and 'imperfection' that society points out and they begin to think about themselves in terms of those. And when people speak, they tell them they are beautiful despite those differences, or they are still beautiful with them, but that is not true. They are beautiful because of them.
