The City
I came into the city with open arms
I saw it
And it was beautiful
My eyes widened like never before
At the signs painted with neon rainbows
And I smiled
Lights danced off of the backs of pedestrians
And for the first time
The lights danced off of mine
Everyone was beautiful in the city’s air
With their smiles like gems
And their breaths like puffs of clouds
Everyone had a chance in the city
And everyone included me
You were not alone
I was not alone
Even in a sea of strangers
I came into the city with open arms
I saw it
And I knew I’d come home
