Winter in New York
When the last leaf has fallen, and the ground is covered in snow
When the flowers have all wilted, and the air is crisp with cold
When my nose is red, and I cannot feel my ears
When my fingers are numb, and my sweaters take the shape of paws
When the chill nips at my legs, and the blanket is never warm enough
When my windshield is covered in frost, and my coffee grows cold
When the heater blasts, and the sun sets at five
That is when I will miss you the most.
