Killing Perfection
The secret to sucess is constancy of purpose

I remember a time

Where we were like cupcakes and roses

Soft and fragile as can be

Melting into one another

Delicate as glass slippers

And when we weren't so put together

It crumbled and cracked in its ugliness

When there was only one of us

And that wasn't me

It was you

Standing on the epoch of eternity

Alone. You were fine

I was fine

But I didn't like the lack of breathing room

The author's comments:

This was not put well together. But I felt seeing something there, tangible would free me from this daunting weight of trying to create poetry again, even if I'm not so good at it.

It's a start.

It can be interpreted however you wish. I wrote it getting over a break up of all things but it could work friend wise as well too :)

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain.

Hmm... Can't say I completely understand it... But are you speaking of losing a childhood friend?
