Where I Am From
I'm from t.v. shows,
From Barney, Elmo, Teletubies and Rugrats.
I'm from Cinderella,
from dancing to Winnie the Pooh.
I'm from my stuffed bear, Tommy,
From my lambs that never leave my side
From the back porch, my playroom.
From playing in my pretend house.
I'm from Sesame Place,
From walking up to that little red monster.
From sitting on the couch with my brother.
I'm from "The Kissing Hand" and "The Saggy Baggy Elephant"
I'm from macaroni and cheese,
From my love for those cheesy yummy noodles.
I'm from the beach with my grandma,
From playing in the sand and swimming in the water
From swimming in the pool and pretending to
be a mermaid.
I'm from spinning on little pink shoes,
From tutu's swaying about.
I am from tapping around the room,
From pretty little costumes and frilly skirts.
I'm from hair in a tight bun or loose ponytail.
I am from looking at pretty lights,
From looking at the beautiful tree.
I'm from waking up and sitting by the tree.
From the gifts all around me.
I am from the basement.
From having no room to walk in my playroom,
From having no toy in place,
From leaving no toy untouched.
I'm from the playground,
From meeting my new short-term best friends.
I am from having a playmate everyday,
From my brothers, sister and friends.
I'm from hide and seek and playing pretend.
I'm from making worm habitats with my friend, Maggie
I am from my friends,
From Kirstin, Stephen and Maggie.
From jumping on my trampolene.
I'm from being hot and sweaty everyday from being outside.
I am from my past,
From never giving up.
I'm from getting myself where I want to be.
From realizing my past helped me with my present,
From realizing it will help me with my future.
