Mother to Daughter

I leaned to you my deepest hour,
My tears rolled down your life when I could not stand,
You held me as you said,
No matter any doubt,
I’ll always love you,
Love watching you grow and sprout,
My dear O’ daughter of mine,
We might fight and whine,
Promise me your love will always be mine,
You can jump, you can howl,
Leave me in the dark with a scowl,
Just know you can howl for me if you need,
You can elope or skate away,
Anything you need to be you,
You can tell me anything or choose not to,
Just know,
I will always love you.
