I Hate Poetry
When I was young
I use to write
Little poems
Happy,
and innocent
Poems that made
everyone smile
Then I grew older
Middle school age
But continued to write little poems
But as my world changed
So did my words
My poems' smiles drooped
My own shiny words?
They faded
and joyful rhymes
Turned jaded
But expressing them
Still, made me smile
But Morbid!
They judged
At the honest words
That were mine
So I stopped writing
My words that felt true
My love for expression
Of raw inner thoughts
Turned to a hatred
Of poetry
